THIS IS MORE THAN A TREND! VIDEO CONTENT IS EXPLODING
Two weeks ago, I asked a few friends if they’d choose to watch a video or read a text and they all settled for videos. Ever wondered why video production can never die?
Research has proven that humans prefer to watch videos than to read text. It’s obvious because humans watch videos everyday whether at work, in transit, at home, in fact video is a central part of how we live. No wonder Instagram and YouTube are experiencing more users than ever.
Businesses and individuals use video content as a strategy to attract their targeted audience. Bloggers are creating Youtube channels and almost every brand runs a paid video ad on Youtube, this is evident that there’s a magic that videos do to the mind.
According to a research by Hubspot, 97% of marketers say video has helped increase user understanding of their product or service while 76% say it helped them increase sales. Consumers love videos, they would rather use video to learn about a product or service because they seem to add value to the experience.
There are currently lots of video applications but Instagram and Snapchat seem to be on the top list. Just recently, Instagram introduced IGTV because insight has proven that the future of video content looks bright. This is more than a trend!
The growth of Influencers in the social media space is tied to the high consumption of video contents by humans. Truth is, as the algorithm keep increasing, video will grow more valuable for generating engagement and growing following.
A recent data proves that more than 200 million people use Instagram stories each month which is 50million more than those who use Snapchat. It is assumed that by the end of 2018, nearly half of all Instagram users will be using Insta stories.
According to a new WARC global ad trends report, advertisers are expected to spend $29.8 billion on online video this year, an increase of 27.5 percent, with most of that going to social media platforms. Truly, video content will shape the future of Digital Media and soon enough, press releases will become videos.
Are you ready for the explosion?
Watch out for the high ride of video content maybe more than the internet can contain.
