Food for champions

ANTHONY JOSHUA HAS REVEALED THE DIET THAT CONTRIBUTED TO MAKING HIM WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION

Every award winning athlete has a physique that can only be tagged "GOALS". I mean look at Serena Williams whose 20 weeks pregnancy tummy looks like an average food belly, come on! To be a titled athlete, it is therefore evident that there's something you gotta give. In an interview with SkySport, Anthony shared some tips on his diet and how it has and is playing an undeniable role in his title claim.

BREAKFAST: Joshua posted this video of a monster breakfast including beans, eggs, brown bread and a protein shake on Twitter which came to more than 1,000 calories. But he told Sky Sports his latest power-packed breakfast consisted of egg, rice, chicken, avocado, bread, a fruit juice.

LUNCH: His carbs come from rice and noodles and then a side of fibre-rich vegetables.

DINNER:

First he has lean meat, along with pounded yam, stew and okra. Joshua told Sky Sports that pounded yam, a Nigerian staple food, is one of his key training foods which is packed with slow-burning-complex carbohydrate and fibre. "It just keeps you strong," he says. "It's a dense form of mash potato. If you eat that enough and you train then it's a big carb load." Later he has another round of rice, salmon and noodles.

Oh and by the way, he is Nigerian just in case you don't know! Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua, MBE is a British professional boxer. He is currently a unified world heavyweight champion, having held the IBF title since 2016, and the WBA and IBO titles since April 2017.

Go Big Or Go Home!

NIKE HAS DECIDED TO LAUNCH ITS FIRST PLUS-SIZED RANGE OF WORK-OUT CLOTHES/SPORTS WEAR

Trust me, if you had a sexy gym wear, you would be hyped daily to head out to the gym. You know how uncomfortable it is to manage to struggle to fit into those leggings 3 sizes smaller only to be unable to make it to even your front door. So, for my beautiful plus sized ladies, Nike has created special sports outfit for you to fill your curves with. Happy? I bet you are!

The athletic brand launched a plus-size clothing line with new sizes 1X through 3X on more than 200 products, including athletic shirts, pants, shorts and jackets. New sports bras will go up to size 38E. With a teaser back in July,2016, which got over 79,000 likes and got us anticipating, we are glad it is finally here.

Strong is the keyword for us; size doesn’t matter.
— Helen Boucher, Nike's Vice President of Women's Training Apparel

They have gotten loads of positive reactions from what seems to be loyal and patient customers as gathered from twitter; and the outfits aren't just made to fit but promote movement; In fact, each product it makes has to run through six core movements which is plunging, squatting, bending, rotating, pushing, and pulling.

Inclusion and meeting needs should be the sole purpose of every business brand, so great job Nike and thank you for restoring confidence and a sense of belonging; urm hello Adidas and counterparts?.

1,2 Buckle Your Shoes: The "Quick Shoelace"

THE TIME WASTING PROCESS OF TYING YOUR SHOE LACES HAS BEEN RESOLVED

As much as many of us might have enjoyed that nursery rhyme, that singular act did cause many to go late to school and even drives adults out of their minds. Well, it does drive me mad too.

Good news. There is a way out, revolutionary if you like. It is called the “Quick Shoelace”. It acts just like the normal shoelace offering you variety of styles and colours, eliminates the hassle and ensures a lesser time to get the job done.

QuickShoeLace is the brainchild of Slovenian inventor David Knez.

MEET David Knez (Owner of InDavidual) the inventor of the “Quick Shoelace”

"All my life I have been improving my knowledge and searching for new skills. From welder, mechanical engineer to a 3D modeling as design engineer for plastic injection tools. Then I got an idea of having my own line of clothes under the brand name 'InDavidual', so I started sewing and designing unique clothes. While I was sketching clothes and shoes I got an idea of creating a shoelace that will be simple and functional. At that point The QuickShoeLace was born. These two years were the hardest but also the most artistic and important in my life. In that time I finally discovered who I really am and that nothing is impossible. "Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom".
