RESTAURANTS ARE BRINGING THEIR A GAME TO THE FOOD INDUSTRY AS THEY ARE TAPPING INTO CONSUMPTION HABITS TO START TRENDS
I always jump for joy at the sound of food, truth be told, I don’t know anybody who doesn’t. One secret about me I don’t tell a lot people is my favorite meal. You could meet me tomorrow and ask what my favorite meal is and I’d say something you probably would be expecting but truth is, my favorite food is free food. That smile on your face shows that you agree with me and you love some free food once in a while. As long as it’s free, I’m eating. Although this article isn’t about me but it’s about food. There are a couple of trends being spotted in restaurants across Africa which stem from trends in growing eating patterns and here they are:
Due to the growing health consciousness amongst the African consumer (everyone wants to live long), restaurants have adopted the art of serving whole meals. Ensuring that the food has some quantity of vegies and they are served in clean and well ventilated environment.
The average African consumer is always thinking “Me first and others later”. This has compelled restaurants to device new means to cater for the customer individually and give him/her a personalized customer experience.
All work and no play make Jack a dull boy, right? Imagine how bright Jack will become if you add gaming to his meals –enlightening. Restaurants don’t just want you to eat; they want you to fun as you do.
The connection point
The modern African consumer cooks less and eats out more due to tight schedules and meetings. Restaurants have developed means to connect with such consumers by developing platforms online and offline where they can other for their green meals and it will be delivered to their homes, offices or anywhere else.
Trend spotting, especially when it comes to food is a delicious experience.
