Popular Nigerian Inspirational and Gospel Artiste, Nathaniel Bassey recently started a trend changing worship culture in a way the Nigerian Christian community has never seen before. Mr Bassey, who is known for his soothing voice and his skillful mix of jazz and classical soul in his art, blew a trumpet on social media last month announcing a new trend – A thirty days, one hour #TonguesChallenge which rolled out every day at midnight. The call invited and called on Christians all over the world, beginning from his local region, Nigeria to Join in a Live Instagram prayer session. Subscribers who joined sent their prayers via Instagram Live comments, praying together as one and praying for one another via the comment feature. Each prayer session gathered up testimonies of new miracles; day by the day the numbers grew and by the 30th day, a massive cult following had engulfed the 30 days #TonguesChallenge. Totally unorthodox and nontraditional, this bold move got more acceptance than expected.
Ending the 30 Days online prayer meet up, the inspirational singer/songwriter announced a new theme for the month of June tagged #HallelujahChallenge – a 30 Days, one hour Live Worship session happening everyday by midnight through Instagram live streaming.
