At the rate that technology is going and creating synergies with diverse industries, there might be an app that helps you know when you've found the one. With brother apps like Musiccloud and cloud9; this however offers just christian songs. The music app, "The Minstrels" available on apple store and google play store; is powered by etranzactPLC, offers music, video streaming and paid album downloads of Nigerian gospel music from indigenous artists.

Using technology to cause a proliferation of gospel music in Nigeria

The app, which was launched in April 2017, allows you stream for free but plans to eventually charge a subscription fee as is done in apple music and its other counterparts. Traditional, modern Christian rock or  “western” gospel music are the available genres right now - and artistes as Nathaniel Bassey, Eben, Nikki Laoye, Sinach, Sammie Okposo, Frank Edwards, already have their music on the app.

Now, is this app actually helping serve as a means of spreading the gospel or just another mere invention masked under good to eventually yield profits? well, whatever it is, I am sure it gladdens the hearts of Christians to finally have songs they love all in one place and not have to disturb the media department after church for songs. Also christian artist who have been rumoured  to be poor finally have an extra source of income.
